Frequently Asked Questions

The municipal elections will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

If you wish to participate in the elections, there are two ways to do so. You can join a political party that is participating in the elections, or you can establish your own party.

If you establish your own party, you can check the website of the Electoral Council (Kiesraad) to see which requirements you must meet. In short, it comes down to submitting 30 declarations of support and paying a deposit of €225. You will receive this deposit back if you win seats from the voters.

How you can influence election manifestos (platforms) differs per party. With many parties, you can become a member to subsequently join the discussion. To know how best to exert influence, it is best to contact the party itself.

As an organization or resident, you can also send a letter (or another form of communication) to the political parties (fracties) that are participating. In this letter, you can mention topics or themes that you believe really should be included in the election manifestos. You can send this to raadsgriffie@tilburg.nl.

The Council Registry (Raadsgriffie) ensures that these letters are forwarded to the political parties. All letters will also be published on the internet. You can find them here.
